I've been a voip developer/debugger for about 5 years now. having received various voip engineering certification while working for Nortel Networks, mainly based on h.323 and atm QoS. Later, I went to work for a local Dallas ISP and we developed a SIP-based voip offering based on SER and Asterisk as the media/voicemail server. We later spun off a separate company to deliver the voice service, the ISP was sold, and the voice service was closed as the engineers were all hired by Cisco. Currently my company Citrini has received funding from a software development firm called Essential Technology (.net) to create a business-class ip centrex voip service and billing solution for service providers. I use Asterisk as the main component of that service, along with a custom PBX web front-end and service-provider portal and billing solution.
