PBX Voice Portal

What is a Voice Portal?

A Voice Portal is defined as the following:

  • "A Voice Portal (also referred to as a Vortal) is a service or internet site that a user can reach by phone to access information such as account balances, weather, sport scores, or stock quotes. "

IVR and Voice Broadcasting Applications

Voice portals act as a bridge between information sources (including database and website data) and phone applications that present this information to the end user. IVR and Voice Broadcasting applications are inbound and outbound calling programs that interact with phone users. These technologies, incorporating protocals such as VoiceXML and others, use voice portals to access and update information virtually anywhere.
