It's a device used to interface 2 ISDN BRI ports with Asterisk through SIP account.

Also, please consider that patton smartnode devices usually collects DTMF digits with 5 seconds timeout before transmitting them: this nasty feature should be disabled because create a long delay before passing DTMF to asterisk; it should be disabled through the web configuration menu Advanced GUI -> Call-Router -> Configuration then
Digit-Collection Timeout -> Enabled -> NO (checked) -> Apply
Digit-Collection Terminating Character -> Enabled -> NO (unchecked) -> Apply
